REFLECTIONS

Experience
This semester had a mix of tough and fun moments. Some tasks, like the typographic systems and font design, were honestly really difficult. I spent so much time figuring out the layouts and even had to redo several designs because I was dissatisfied. On the other hand, the type and play exercise felt way easier and more enjoyable. Although some parts were stressful and caused me to lose sleep, I’m glad I pushed through because I ended up creating things I’m satisfied with.

Observation
One thing I’ve noticed is how much observing helps. During feedback sessions, I saw what worked in other people’s designs and it helped me think differently about mine. I’ve started paying more attention to small details and using feedback to help me grow.

Findings
What I’ve learned this semester is that it’s okay to take risks and trust my own judgement more. I always want some form of feedback to feel assured about my choices, but I’ve come to see that in order to improve, I should take that 'calculated risk'. Every project helped me get a little more confident with my design style and process.
